Burping is an inter dimensional languish.

really shmooly, must you make such a big deal out of it whenever a celebrity dies??? people are born, they live, they die. it's a fact of life! why be so maudlin just because another famous person passes away? it's not like he was your best friend or something. he was just a guy!
in all seriousness (which soupy would probably hate),it is a sad day for kids of all ages who grew up with the original soup man (sorry seinfeld). i have a scar on my forehead to this day from running back and forth from the dinner table to the t.v. when i was 6 just so i wouldn't miss soupy. during the commercials i'd race back to the table, and on one return trip to the tv i bashed my head on the corner of our upright piano (poetic justice, maybe). just last week howard stern was asked by reggie jackson who he would consider a hero, and howard said soupy sales. even though soupy and howard had a bit of a feud in the 80s (with howard cutting soupy's piano wires),howard still respected soupy for his contributions to the world of comedy.
it's nice you were able to have personal encounters with him, shmooly. anyone who could bring families together during their life did a good deed for the world. hopefully there will be a resurgence of soup-mania if only for a while. kids today would benefit greatly from the laughs and smiles soupy provided in his career. his was a kinder, gentler time, and there's a big need for that kind of entertainment today.
R.I.P. ......
