This song begins as "My Sweet Lord" and ends fittingly as a pirate classic! | - peterpuck9 |
Facts: |
The band that appears onstage as the backing instrumentals appear very briefly in the Rutles movie as the "Machismo Brothers." Since Eric Idle was one of the four members of the Rutles, and played the part of the Emcee/Host for Harrison's pirate performance, the backing band did not later become the Rutles, as some sources claim. (Hatman) |
This song was played numerous times on the "Friggin' Here" show (1996-2006) (davidtanny) |
The backing instrumentals were done by the band that would later be known as "The Rutles" (DJ Particle) |
|
Song Lyrics: |
I want to be a pirate A pirate's life for me All my friends are pirates And sail the b. b. sea I've got a jolly roger It's black and white and vast Get out of your skull and crossbones And I'll run it up your mast
With a yo-ho-ho And a ya-ha-ha And a ye-hee-hee-ho-hum With a yo-ho-ho And a ya-ha-ha And a yum-yum-jum-jum (I B Emerson) |
